Really could do with some rain and cooler air - the heat is getting uncomfortable.

What's going on around Redcar and Middlesbrough, a few spots went over here a good hour ago - then intensified amazingly on getting mixed up with more heat lower down or cooler air off the sea,

Interesting weather today - heavy rain and the odd rumble of thunder in Durham this morning and then a brief storm around 3.30pm this afternoon. I know Newcastle and Washington had flooding.

When it was driving in off the sea yesterday it was just the set up to give us problems here on the north side of the moors but luckily it shifted off to the east reasonably quickly with final total about 25mm over the whole 24 hours since it started.

Whoops your webpage leads to an internal error message.  Not sure if you catched that.

The only one you have! 404 Not Found (durhamweather.co.uk)   "Hi Officer I'm lost trying to find the AI and am around Peterborough can you point me to it?"  Officer Belokey:  "Sure but first tell me which A1?"

So the chase is starting early this year, no not the TV programme, you all know what I mean.

Interesting next week I think, could be an interesting winter overall but not getting my hopes up on either just yet.

Think we will see some posters returning in the next few days though, a bit like myself.

Yes,its that time of year again, and a chance as early as tomorrow of some wintriness,as the north sea shower machine fires up.

What do people think for fri/sat? Personally I think lowland areas may struggle but the usual areas that do well should be OK.

With that wind the showers are going to rattle through like crazy it probably won't amount to much.
Really extreme windchill out over the moors with gusts over 50mph and only a couple of degrees above freezing Saturday

18z GFS showing blizzard conditions for some of the region tomorrow evening, with 80mph gusts which would cause a fair bit damage due to the unusual direction of the wind.⚠️

Batten down the hatches.

Looks like rain sleet to lower levels would need the low to move slightly east which would be good on 2 fronts . More chances of snow and the worst of the winds out to sea. 50 or 100 mile shift east would be perfect
