So as @Freezing-Point said above they are definitely moving south.

First pic a couple hours ago. Second pic the most recent radar shot. This could be it peeps!

The convection line.   Or is it just a case of tabbing back through the radar and watching where the showers are spilling into?

Guess they won’t be hitting the more Southern parts of the region until the early hours of tomorrow?

So as a rough guide this line is a line of convection or unstable air mass that produces the showers if you like. That "unstable" line is moving south steadily. Means that the winds are likely shifting in our favour but we're going to have to be patient (again). Id say tonight is looking the best on the radar is has since this spell started.

@snowmageddon The air looks unstable everywhere and to be fair showers can break out anywhere i would suspect. Keep an eye on the radar as you can already see pockets of cells firing off all over.

By the way I am well aware forecasts haven't gone to plan.  So I bare no responsibility for a failure

This little feature is due to drop in to the North Sea, do a loop and head back out the top tomorrow night. Currently forecasts suggest all of its precip will land in the sea

Strange how those showers up north are all pretty much the same shape.

They can be shaped like a phallus for all I care, as long as they're girthy and produce plenty of white stuff...

I'll get my coat (pun intended)

Just looked at radar and as has already pointed out them northern showers are definitely getting closer. Bit earlier than planned. Hopefully keep heading this way

The suspense is killing me watching the Northumberland cluster on radar, is it gaining or losing intensity?, is it drifting south? I'll have a beer to calm my nerves

Its not about the size it's what it does that matters.... said no one ill be happy with a few  little ones that dump a cm at a time.

I really do think tonight could be ok for a fair few like. Not sure why I'm doing this to myself but I'm back on the mad train.

People keep saying tonight but what time are we looking at as the radar looks rubbish.

I'd had my money on early hours of the morning, anything before is a bonus.
