9 cms lying here near Penrith, not often Cumbria has more snow than the north east. Don’t worry lads you will get your revenge when the SSW kicks in and you are under a North Sea streamer.

currently light snow +0.2c

Just put the bin out in Aycliffe and we have a few centimetres of very wet snow looks like it could be falling for a while. Be interesting to see when/if it turns back to rain.

Lovey stuff in Durham. Couple of inches, maybe. Still coming down, but not much to go now. Is there more later?

Good couple of inches here in Gateshead. Wet snow but nice to see.

An interesting drive home from Stockton to darlington this morning after a night shift. The transition from wet roads and puddles to winter wonderland literally took a minute of driving. I was quite shocked.

The warming effect of being that much closer to the coast I suppose.

Think I need to move house.... these pictures are lovely but also very frustrating lol. Enjoy the snow ??

If your willing to go halves we will build a 500f high platform between Stockton and Redcar so we can get some snow

Put simply, just a mess here.

Heavy snow then heavy rain, two inches of mucky slush, flooded areas, freezing cold - basically not what you really want, would rather have extremely mild than this mucky mess.

Frustrates me when you see the heavy snow and it is just falling on slush, don't very often get it so it is a shame when it is wasted.

30m higher up, 10 mile further inland  and you can see it is a whiteout.

Nevermind, looks like METO outlook has changed again, few more surprises maybe in the next few weeks and then let's hope end of Jan that the SSW goes our way.
