Was a case of perfect timing for the Redcar snow, with those heavy showers hitting first thing in the morning.

Lots of snow on the moors up near Waskerly today as well.

I recall looking up at the cloud as it passed to me and remarked that is the sort of sky you see on the storm chasing videos.....little did I know.

Very heavy showers with thunder around Newton Aycliffe/Spennymoor just now?
A smaller one to the south here sounds bad enough

Big question. What time will the sun finally break through these low level clouds?

Anyone under that clump of convection between Catterick Garrison and Guisbrough? I'd be interested to see what the local conditions were.  Heading steadily north though!

Travelling South near Alnwick yesterday to the south there was a nasty cubism, I noticed sea fog suddenly rolling in and in no time it obscured the sky and torrential rain ensued, headlights were needed and windscreen wipers on top speed, after about 20 minutes it just stopped as we ran out of it, I believe there was some thunder but the amount of rain hitting the car roof drowned it out. Checking the radar at home the storm appeared to be heading towards us but dissipated prior to getting to PONTELAND.

It is really muggy out there at the moment. Had a few brief heavy showers but nothing thundery; perhaps too much cloud around this afternoon to get things going.

I just spoke to my sister in North London, it was quite hard to hear her over the torrential rain and thunder, Wih it would come here!
