Well I just got back from a 45 min walk and god was it cold. I wanted to experience a good walk in -8 air and it was fantastic. Still 4 inches of crunchy snow in darlo in lots of places. Winter wonderland for sure. If we can get another couple of days like this I may to increase this cold spell from a 5 to a 6/10. Bloody brilliant long may it continue.

Radar looks like landfall may be too far North for heaviest precip, might get lucky.

Defo a radar watching brief

Tad chilly here at -12.7 but balmy in Hexham at -9. No snow overnight and not expecting any today.

Places like Blyth could be knee deep by the end of today.

Agreed, Blyth looks right in the firing line all morning and the band of snow they're under is turning red on the radar out at sea

A rare event here, was snowing in the early hours in a temp of -7!! Very unusual in my neck of the woods for such low tempertures with falling snow.

Looking forward to hopefully more snow showers today, another bitter day tomorrow then if I'm honest the mild weather next week. Apart from a very odd day it's been cold since just before Christmas!

Currently -6.7c after an overnight low of -7.8c. I'm not sure I remember such low temperatures. Possible chance of some snow later the radar is correct on the movement out over the coast

Well well well.  Get the cold in first and winds coming off the sea.  E then NE now SE !

This is going to be the most significant snow event of this spell anywhere in the region.....thats if you are in the firing line.   Slow moving means more accumulation.

The band of snow is growing fast

Wouldnt be surprised a flash weather warning is issued....

Seems to be widening and deepening with every radar update.

the southern tip is also wheeling round towards land as far south as Hull?
