Will be interesting to see how long these showers feed in through the rest of today and into the evening.

They expected to fizzle out tonight.

Waiting for the next round of showers to push after a lull.

I’m hoping for the showers to last until at least around 6pm want to go on a walk around 5ish!

The radar just shows them completely giving up on any showers past 4. Very strange.

Interesting how, like yesterday, showers fade at the mouth of the Tyne when coming in on an easterly wind. Doesn't seem to affect the showers north and south of here.

A masterclass in the use of euphemism,

Who would have guessed a few days ago that Weds would end up being the snowiest day!? Heavy show showers here in Hexham via Ashington. Probably 10-15cm lying snow and just below zero degrees. Probably another 2-3 cm in last 20 mins!

I can't see anything else hitting me now. There was a decent sized blob heading for us here but it's split North and South.

I've still got hope for what's just offshore. It does all seem to be splitting north and south at the last minute though.

I’m convinced it to do with the river Tyne/ valley , maybe a vacuum exiting which forces showers either side, who knows

I have a feeling this last shower due to hit will be the last for Teesside. Maybe the last snow of the winter? who knows.

Its been an interesting but very frustrating winter here.

Bring on the warm weather and we will be back in 10 months time im sure lol.

March isnt also out the question here but its a lot harder for it to stick around.

Not too shabby, though my new ruler was for the beast scenario.

12cm on lawn so prob more in drifts & fields. If it stays cold I'll bank it

I think you’re right, it’s happened a lot over the last few days whenever the wind has been predominantly easterly. Would be interesting to find out why, because the Thames doesn’t seem to do the same down south

The same for CLS. Numerous times the precipitation splits and goes around me. Another example of this has just happened

Another decent snow shower here about 15 mins ago hopefully we can squeeze a couple more out before the winds switch

There's some very odd wind flows down your way, mini lows or tornadoes

Looking at the radar I think we may squeeze a couple more weak showers out of this spell around 3.30 - 4pm but its not looking great for south of the region now. For the north its looking better.
