Top of newcastle looks to be going to get a decent streamer come in

Yes whoever gets in that direct line could get a couple of inches.   Looking close for me.  Very painful if it just misses !!!

OK so I understand.. the showers are forming better around the Morpeth/Newc line.. will they form better further south as the night goes on?

And will the winds veer further to the NE or is that it?

All models seem to point that way, winds should come around much more during the early hours. I'm quite pleased with the developments out at sea tonight, I wish I could understand this disappearing shower phenomenon though.

Too far north for me. I need them to dip under the Tyne ideally. Not like being selfish or anything . The heavy stuff has dropped off the MetOffice for my area now. Hopefully they haven't a clue but they've been bang on within 24 hours for every other day this week.

Have just had a moderate snow/ graupel shower here.  Radar is looking good behind! I'm hoping a mini streamer will set up but then probably not.  Lol

Managing to catch a shower at the moment, with a bit of luck I'll be well placed for this line of showers, close call.

Looks to be expanding in width so we might both be good, coming down steady at the minute.

Proper convection kicking off now out there. This is mint. But only if they stay like this as they hit land.

Moderate snow in CLS now. That heavy blob that was heading north of my location seems to have expanded its bottom which could hit me now with a bit of luck

Looking at the satellite I don't think all layers of the atmosphere are aligned in wind direction yet which will be capping convection. Some areas still going east while others north east. The low going through France should force alignment over the coming hours.

Until what time are we supposed to be in the firing line? Because as recent nights have made painfully clear, it takes ages for stuff to come in, and there's comes a point when you look at the radar, which is pants, and realise that's basically it, with no time for anything else to form that can hit you before morning.

Admit it guys its pants and even  for those of you with 2 inches its crap considering the synoptics

You really can't polish a turd, just be grateful that  Scotland and Yorkshire got loads
