You could be right about hartlepool but I still think there is a chance for teesside there maybe even darlo. Wherever it hits could drop a couple of cm's. It looks angry!!

The back of that shower is now attaching to the blob that was heading for my location. I bet it pulls it south

As soon as the showers hit the wind doesn't half pick up. Snowing now in darlo could be a decent one.

Those showers going into North Northumberland look awesome so beefy they are almost one huge streamer. Must be absolutely getting pasted up there.

Just popped in the mad thread, I think this Ireland poster calls it right.

This cold snap is far from over. today is only Tuesday. My side of the pond, our Met Office are far from convinced that this cold snap will or  be over at the weekend,  they are still talking about the possibility of the cold holding onto the East with snow until at least Sunday . If this mild weather does break through, it will be the very south west of the UK that will become mild briefly. More twist and turns to come before we see a clearer picture of what’s going to happen just because some models switch overnight doesn’t mean the cold or winter is over

No snow this way since 7am but met office just issued a new warning to last until Friday.
Got to hope something comes up on radar for us as doesn’t look anything promising at the minute

That blob heading for CLS has been pulled south a little. Nothing for a while after that. Hopefully picks up later. At work in Durham city now til 8pm. Difference between CLS and pity me is ridiculous

It doesn't seem like it. People like to moan etc but the facts are this started Sunday we are only at Tuesday of a whole week of wintry weather. Would have snapped your hand off for anything close to winter the past few years. Just sit back and what will be will be. If anything its better then boring wet Atlantic mush...

Then please can we have some warm weather

New warning from 0000 Thursday to 12:00 Friday

Although not as heavy or frequent as experienced over the past few days, further snow showers could bring disruption to travel in places.

What to expect

  • Some roads and railways likely to be affected with longer journey times by road, bus and train services
  • Some injuries from slips and falls on icy surfaces
  • Probably some icy patches on some untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths

Further snow showers are expected to continue to affect parts of northeast England and northern and eastern Scotland. Whilst these are not expected to be as heavy or widespread as earlier in the week, some persistent bands of snow showers may develop in places. Accumulations of 1-3 cm are likely with 5-8 cm possible where more persistent bands of snow develop. Icy stretches are possible overnight where surfaces are left wet from the partial melt of lying snow during the daytime.

Totally agree NES, far too early to write this week off and anything beyond.

I do need the soil to warm up a bit in March though, got a load of dahlias to get in lol.
