Hi, long time lurker here. Excited for the next few days. Has been mainly graupel so far here, but a few proper flakes around in the last half hour or so.

Nice to see some proper showers after yetserday's frustrations.

Looking towards Newcastle a few minutes ago.

I can't seem to get the CIN charts for us. Can anyone give me an idea when the convection is likely to uncap today?

Can someone explain why everywhere from Teesside south has got really decent stuff, whereas from Teeside to North of Newc the sea looks completely different? (i.e., rubbish)

It looks like those are going to just miss Stanley

Whickham currently has it's first 'real' snow shower of this spell. Small flakes, but snow nonetheless. We're not a million miles from you so may get to you soon.

I’m blaming your negative vibes Nick

Seriously though we have a massive window of opportunity so I wouldn’t worry about it

To be fair I'm seeing more and more red / orange (heavier) echos from the radar now north of the region. Whether they maintain as they hit land is yet to be seen but they definitely appear to be deepening quicker offshore now.

Its because you keep looking at the radar and ruining it, stop it.

Short time-lapse of the approach and quick passing of an intense graupel to snow shower this morning. Snow kicks in about half way through.
