I've had 2 heavy hail showers here so far this morning after waking up to proper snow flakes earlier

Just been for a stroll, some nice snow showers, not leaving a log on the ground as blowing around but it is very icy and expect it to stay that way for a good few days.

Bring on a screaming streamer !!

Lasted 3 minutes.  But it was all flakes, small but all flakes.  Wind picked up too.  Bright sunshine now.

A few short-lived showers here so far, left a dusting on top of yesterday's dusting, so a double dusting day. So far... Have seen conditions like this previously, should be some heavier ones around later this afternoon and evening...wouldn't bet against 3-4 inches here by morning, prob double that in Consett, Stanley et al !

A nice covering on everything, the graupel foundation is just what was needed for the snow to lay on top of all very wet ground and its always comforting seing sunny spells & high cumulus clouds forming giving steady stream of showers.

Only about 3cm but is very compact due to the polystyrene like balls, but much prefer a more NE flow for the fluffier stuff which will easily pile up

How about we play a game...it's one of those showery days whereby it seems a bit random who gets what and when. What if, on the hour every hour, starting at 11 am, everybody posts a quick one-liner, or even one word (yes/no/snow etc) and we can all see the distribution across the region. It won't be scientific or prove anything, just a bit of fun?

Getting a nice proper snow shower from this clump on the radar with hopefully more heading my way -  image.thumb.png.aa0d2ab9e9708fb377bb5d1fde81fbf1.png

Showers passing to the north/south of Durham at present. Just measured 5 cm on back lawn from very early morning showers, so not complaining. Snow/ graupel is very dry and powdery.
