Whats that Amber warning about further south only till 2pm aswell. Nothing on the current radar warrants that. Must be a streamer set up incoming which isn't currently showing

Come on snow, anytime now would be nice. A slight covering in Aycliffe. Let's see what today brings fingers crossed

A  skittering of snow here, blown into cracks and crevices. Unless a streamer develops in our direction, I'm not expecting much other than a few moderate bursts from time to time. I'd be happy with a couple of cms.

Everything is frozen solid, but we are only just below freezing, unlikely to see an ice day, but will be interesting to note max temp, expecting no more than 1 degree only briefly.

Looking at the radar the activity looks quite intense over Yorkshire / humber area, certainly more intense activity than what we are seeing at the moment.

Looks very hit and miss are we expecting any organised bands of snow?

With this satellite image you would expect so, Convection forming way out to sea so time to organise. I see there Convergence lines in the fax charts depends where these set up. Wednesday all of a sudden looks very interesting also

Now a mix of sunny spells and cloud as the showers move inland some of which are losing intensity at present as they do so

Looking through the charts and models for this morning theres a Cap on over our region at the moment keeping the convection shallow (cap at around 4-5000ft) u can see this when the showers die out leaving a cloudbase around there good thing is when this cap goes towers should reach a height of around 23000ft (cumulonimbus)

How long do we reckon this cap will remain?

Light covering here, heavy shower about 8ish and a couple of light showers since.

Kids wanted straight out for a walk, wind is bitter. And both kids on their backsides within 5 minutes lol.

Quite excited to keep watching radar and hoping for more coming in!

Any idea when the CIN is likely to go?
