Snow flurries this morning.

Hopeful of these snow showers becoming heavier over the next 24-48 hours.

Lot of disappointment in here this morning, I can understand that, I am slightly disappointed myself, we have got a light dusting in parts, light snow falling and being blowing about in the winds, still nice to see.

However, I think the weather is slightly behind what we originally anticipated but I am certain we are in for an interesting week.

The problem is, especially around Teesside, if the showers aren't intense enough, it's hitting wet ground, then inbetween showers, melting. Already seen it happen at 7am on the way to work.

Guys we need to relax, we've literally just established the easterly flow and the convective cap hasn't even lifted yet. To be honest the radar is showing much more activity than I'd expected at this point. I personally never expected much accumulation to this point. Rule number 1 is get the cold in first.

Showers should get heavy and are showing signs of that both on radar and on the ground.

So whilst we wait for things to get going properly shall we have a few guesses at max. Snow accumulations in the region this week

While I'm keeping the faith, I really can't see much for Teesside from this.

I remember those words from a Sunderland fan a few years ago as they were battling to stay in the Premier League...

Good morning - woke up to a light dusting and there is  currently a light mix of hail/snow falling

The radar compared to late last night is showing a lot more activity which seems to have intensified - lets hope this continues to happen as the day goes on
