I think 10cm for us tomorrow during the day then during sleety later on and turning to wet slush thursday. Weekend and beyond looks interesting too though. Let's all post pictures if we get white stuff. Sorry "coasters" it must be frustrating.

With 850' Temps at -8℃ and greater they'll be no marginality here on the coast, had a small flurry this morning and 850's were hovering around -6℃ and winds coming off the sea.

I'm not interested in tomorrow now. It's what comes later in the week. Need to see the models counting down now.

Couldn't agree more Phil. The usual places will do very well tomorrow for if not a time at least. Post Saturday looks interesting for everyone including us in Teesside for once!!!

Phil & Fairweather: Got so bogged down in the cold watching one year that when I looked out of the window there was snow and I hadn't noticed. Surely snow tomorrow is worth 2 at the weekend?....

That does show the problem, though. Our feed isn't as good and the big ppn is further south. That doesn't seem to give us huge amounts.

They won't be picking up the full convective potential yet. Leave that for the high res models later in the week

Light snow here, slight covering, may get heavier before turning to rain.

Fingers crossed for the end of the week when hopefully we get some proper cold and snow.

You are playing this tune a lot Nick.

Let's just get the cold in first then I am sure ppn, and heavy ppn showers, will pop up just about  anywhere, once the real cold is embedded for a few days I am sure we will then go on to see more battleground scenarios as well where actually even for teesside it may well be snow.

Just my view, based on gut rather than knowledge but I think we may well be in for a cold and snowy February.
