I know the bbc app is pretty poor but if this is right we could get a decent fall overnight.

Looks like the mass of snow over Northumberland is expanding as it moves SSE, hoping it makes it's way here, might be a tall order, but just needs a bit more expansion and trajectory retention.

Is the mass of snow over N/NE Scotland the band expected to give snow overnight or is it the stuff over Northumberland set to pivot and stall?

Had snow for around 45 minutes IN Whickham. Falling on wet ground so we're just seeing a covering on the roads now. Hopefully a good covering overnight, although no doubt I'll get dragged out at 5am to help the wife as she doesn't like driving in the wet stuff

Probably the second band.Either way looks like a wintry scene for many parts of the region tomorrow morning.

Nothing here yet in darlington. Probably be rain when it does arrive as we have no elevation at all.

Looks cracking for the NE tonight, just browsing through the webcams for Gateshead and whilst it's looking more sleet/wet snow at lower levels, the snowline is coming down, I don't see why in the next few hours, they shouldn't be a covering of snow across most of the region.

Still waiting here in Newton Aycliffe.

The snow distribution around the north east at the moment is bonkers depending on on location/height etc

Snowing in Penrith at -0.1c, didn't expect that band to reach here and I suspect it will be a glancing blow, I think the likes of North Yorkshire and County Durham will do well.

This week it has snowed every day and temperature hasn't been a problem, for once being well away from the north sea has been a positive advantage!
