Snowing again, looks very wintry...not causing too many issues at my level but higher ground to the east might be getting a decent covering

Took this about 5 mins ago. It’s becoming a whiteout almost now wow! Easily 2cm on the ground ☃️❄️❄️

After a walk in the snow it seemed like a good idea to open a bottle of mulled wine.

I’d forgot how discussing it was so the missus has the bottle all to herself and I’ll open a bottle of red instead

Sounds like a good shout, mulled wine seems to sound good at the tome.

Im on the red as well while peaking out the blinds.

Lost some intensity by the looks of the radar and my snow has melted so back to square one.

Big gaps opening up now in the streamer now. Will any heavy stuff reach here I wonder or is the die out starting?

The streamer seems to be breaking up a bit now as it hits the Pennines but hopefully it will have enough energy to make it over to this side.

Yep, other streamer starting to die out. The one that’s just gone over came at a bad time really. Nothing was still frozen. It just needed to wait another hour or two to freeze again  all melted. Back to square one.

Didn't last long here as band had really narrowed. However, can't complain as we have seen snow falling 4 days out of the last 6. I suspect the East of the region may do quite well overnight, but probably just scraps in the West.

Any one explain why no shower activity further north of Northumberland, everything seems to be starting south of Newcastle?

We have about a couple of cm here so nothing noteworthy. Radar looks promising in North Yorkshire hopefully this can move SW wards.

Yeah it’s strange that.

the narrow band just south of the Tyne looks pretty intense as it heads in across County Durham.

I might just have a drive up to Barnard Castle to see if the opticians is open

Pfft. Band will be dead by the time it hits Manchester. 
 

Coming from the Irish Sea the showers have no issues reaching the East coast. They come from the East and the Pennines just destroy them
