The front is racing across then nation when you compare it to the sliders lately. In the past two hours it's crossed most of Wales.

Euro4 going for a mainly high ground event. WRF is similar. I reckon if you are above 150m you'll see a covering in the morning below that it'll be mostly sleet and cold rain.

Just checked the Met Office forecast for Blackpool and it shows a few heavy snow symbols for some reason.

Met office going for rain here . Bbc snow

Surprised as I thought your location is one of the better lowland location given your further north. It will turn to rain for sure but would certainly not rule out snowfall.

The front is definitely turning wintry now.

Good luck to everyone in the warning zone

Sleety rain lashing against the windows lets hope the cold over the weekend doesn't downgrade to much.

As regards the Amber. It’s a test for the MET ability when on here majority say no chance. Going to be an interesting morning. And an interesting drive out to Whalley.

Im very bullish and posted half hour before the warning come out to state 5-8cm widely. Parameters have changed on todays runs without people noticing due to the fixation on the weekend. This will be a very decent event in my eyes

Just started to rain. Currently 2.0°C so will need evaporative cooling to come into effect  if we’re gonna see any snow.

What has changed Scott as I tend to look at the models on a fairly basic level and look more or less the same too me?

Appreciate this is probably for folk on higher levels than for those at lower levels.

When i looked yesterday both the 0c 850s and dps were North Yorkshire northwards on the Euro4. Whats changed today is both have been modelled under cutting the precipitation as far south as the South Yorkshire and Derbyshire border after 1am.

And for areas in the amber area 3-8cm is forecast under 100metres so not just lower levels. Im in the amber at 66ms and forecast 11cm on some high res models
