Orion looking stunning under frosty skies tonight. Plenty of interest coming up this week.

Stop moaning you Northern Lot. Us on the Cheshire Staffs border missed out as well, and mostly miss out when you get it. Lol.

We are either too far North as with today, or too far South. In fact the little bit we had after Christmas was our first Snow since 1996

Its better to be at least 100 miles or so away from heavy snow than a few miles...

Yep especially for us in the far south of the region.
Staffordshire (south of Stoke)

5-10cm ❄️⛄️

Crewe:

Wet concrete few flakes in the wind

At least we’ve had a few fairly decent falls even if they didn’t stick around for long. Still a fair bit of winter to go too.

-1C here but it won't last long, or at least wont get much colder as the wind will turn seaward, and showers will be incoming. If they are heavy enough there might be some lying snow by dawn.

Where there isn't showers due, ie the Midlands, and there is snowcover, I reckon it could go down to -12C somewhere.

well that was pretty emphatic.

Onto the next round we go!

On a more bizarre note.. every FA Cup match had 1 team scoring 3 goals tonight. If you put a bet on that you'll be absolutely raking it in.

Irish Sea gone a bit more lively now. Some more showers are forming near east side of IOM.

Dubai Floods: Another Warning Sign for Desert Regions?

The flooding in the Middle East desert city of Dubai earlier in the week followed record-breaking rainfall.
