The direction of the flow means that anything hitting land south of Morecambe Bay misses the East of Lancashire and Manchester and the cluster coming in that far north are breaking up when they hit the Bowland Fells so it looks like a day of missing out this far inland.

Possibly a better chance when that lot arrives from the north later although marginality may be an issue then but it better than a train of mild south westerly depressions.

Agreed. This Fylde shower again seems to more organised to the SW and again will miss this part of the world. Hopefully we get something in the next 24 hrs as the easterly for next week is looking far from the holy grail.

Most of the time we seem to be on the dividing line where the rain stops and the snow starts. There's plenty of occasions where it's raining here and snowing 2 or 3 miles down the road in Grimsargh/Longridge. Fine margins and all that.

Well Preston's decent sized wintry showers 30 mins ago just about managed to hang on here, and it's snowing with decent sized flakes all sticking...but it's on it's last legs, so won't last too long.  Some more development coming off Blackpool area but again will deteriorate somewhat before it knocks on my door.

Moderate- heavy snow shower still here in Sandbach. 5 miles down the road in Crewe despite catching the snow around 6am dry as a bone by the looks of it. Crewe snow shield in full effect lol! ❄️☃️ 332A578E-789E-4358-8251-15B9C789E3AF.thumb.jpeg.63911c9173d056adc4e9971f465ea370.jpeg

Nothing additional of note on the ground as we were on the edge of the Northwich monster. Was mostly light to moderate. Looks like skies are clearing now. Still got a thin layer of snow/ice from earlier in the week though.
