Well, I was in danger of getting 20cm of lovely fluffy snow at weekend but the GFS and ECM both put the brakes on before the M6. Thank goodness. 

My worry if the low is too far north, it's going to bring more frontal activity so we could have a true rain shadow affect. Basically the NE will be getting what we get with a moist SW'ly but with snowfall rather than rain.

If that ecm is close to the mark then wow  

There were that many features under non marginal uppers even the west of the region would join in the fun.

You've got to have something moist (it's that word again) with your chips. Gravy, mushy peas, curry sauce, or all 3. Just chips don't cut it.
