Just in warning.

Models been suggesting West Lancs too marginal for 2/3 days now.

Not getting up at 3am for 1 hr of snow then rain.

Be interesting to see how Bacup does.

On a post COVID working from home session this week and my working day involves early starts so will let you know what it’s like first thing and then how soon it turns back to rain.

I’m confident of seeing something this time though.

Going to have to take a break again it’s really p**sing me off this today how the trend keeps going against us.

@Day 10 You were right, we are cursed.

The southern contingent have pinched the controls for the snow shield and reportedly, it's part of the LEVELING UP process that Boris championed.

Well the best members in here for anything wintry  will be Thundersnow, Damianslaw and perhaps Cumbria Marra, in fairness those guys deserve too see something especially Cumbria Marra given his location. It's ashame it's going to turn back to rain regardless but if your forecast for 4 hours of snowfall for example, it's better than nothing.

See how it all develops, just ashame the air over us was not more colder then we may of seen the milder air struggling more but not too be.

Ouch - trending worse again. Still Ok for Cumbria and more Northern parts, but some reasonable elevation probably needed for decent amounts of snow further South

Even though I'll be about, going to refrain from posting anything with a snow interest until it's within a 2-3 day timescale (even that is unpredictable). Forget day 5 in this complex Winter,it may as well be day 10.

I like your attitude Damian, you call a spade, a spade.

Meanwhile, MOD thread.... Health warnings and guidance to check where poster is located to try and understand there dislike or like of the synopsis.

Yes unfortunately many posts on the MOD thread are from an imby perspective and fail to look at the broader picture for the UK as a whole. Quite naturally though it's to be expected people only view the models with likely impacts for there home turf in mind..

Thought I would leave this here.  BBC forecast for the week ahead.  This screen shot is for a week on Wednesday.  I don’t think any model is showing this.

That was based on yesterday's ECM 0z op run which was a massive outlier. Unbelieveable she showed this.

Just collected the Mrs from work and it just doesn’t feel cold enough for snow. If it does happen it’ll be interesting taking her to work at 6.30am tomorrow.

Not to be a debbie downer but I wouldn't expect their to be even transient snow for most of the North West.

Freezing levels aren't even close to conductive for snow, even the hills away from the purple shades would see rain.

Especially as Sarah Keith Lucus is a coldie it would seem but its just a completely bizzare temperature profile to begin with. I have not even seen the ECM model showing mild air coming into Scotland for example.

Scotland is going to get absolutely battered!

For tomorrow, members in the far north of our region should be quite excited, looking like a good few inches for you guys away from the coast before turning back to rain.
