Edit:  It does like Chorley but you need to select which one.

La météo en temps réel et prévisions météo pour la France, Observations météo, modèles numériques et logiciels météo (GFS, ECMWF, UKMO, GEM, AROME, ARPEGE, JMA)

Once youve selected Chorley, you end up with this view.

If you are using MS Edge, you can right click on the page and translate to English as I have done.

One you've done that, select Advanced Storm as high lighted in yellow.

If there is indeed a trend to correct back north then we should see signs on WRF 18Z which will be coming out soon. Let’s see.

Encouraging that the LPL taf is still showing the possibility as @Dexter pointed out earlier..

18z GFS is similar to previous - the 0C isotherm is too far north. Rain event for most of us.

Hi JB,

Only on phone but on closer inspection, I have just compared the earlier 12z gfs 6am chart posted on page 250 with the 18z and it is slowing down which is good, a small correction south

Let's hope the ECM is correct.

I don't, ECM like the GFS is too bowling ball type low, we need a more slider type like the UKMO run but at this stage, the odds are it will be a snow to rain event for our region. A that said, on all models, a slight tweak and it could be a totally different result so there is still a good 48 hours or so for variations.

Going back to tomorrows frontal feature, if any PPN does end up further north than first thought, there is more chance of turning to snow here than the Midlands due to the time of day and being closer to the colder air. I suspect I'm way too far north here but areas like Cheshire and Merseyside, I would not give up hope just yet.

Hello mate, that’s good news  .

I don’t think we’ll know how this will play out until Monday night but hopefully we’ll get more and more clarity through the weekend.

Off to bed and i'll monitor the thread for half an hour.

The MOD thread seems to be a mix of Glass half full and half empty. I suppose its the pub run so what else should i expect.

Easterly wind really starting to gust over the Pennines. The roof of the house keeps creaking.

Looking at the radar the front is much further north than I thought it said it was going to be. Hopefully see some falling snow. Winds picked right up an all.

Really gusty this morning, pink echoes to my east but too dark to see what's happening over the hills.  Snow falling not many miles away in N Staffs, radar looks more promising than predictions earlier in the week, hope I don't end up slip sliding on the  roads like last week whilst getting mums shopping.  A day of radar watching and staring out the window I think, good luck for those who want snow.

Strong easterly gusts here this morning, rattling all those east-facing objects that usually get an easy ride with the predominant westerlies we have.  Nippy facing it down, well it will be when I set off to work no doubt.  Sleet tantalisingly near by to the south, but it will be snizzle only here if anything at all.

I think that band of weather has probably hit as far north as it wants to go now... fair amount of showers packing in from the east ahead of that main band though, don't recall seeing any forecasts mentioning those.

Radar shows ppn to be over us, but looks dry outside atm. Gusty winds out, I'd imagine it is feeling rather raw.

Surprised how active and far north the band is. Somewhere in the south of the region may see some snow today.

The main feature here is the strong easterly wind.

Yes, interesting seeing those showers. Nicely illustrating the colder digging in.

So frustrating.

Could  be one of those days that might hurt where the Midlands and those in the south of the region could get snowfall and we get grey skies and a cold wind.

Looking good in the Midlands all ready, rain turning to snow in places so the colder air is undercutting.

Looks like a copy of last Sunday.

High hills south will get some but its not quite got the oomph to push the heavier precip up another 30 miles.
