Enjoy your walk and gets yourselves fit and well again.

the weather will do whatever it wants and, frustrating as it may be; no end of moaning and worrying will change that.

TBH I’ll be happy if my fitness levels after I’ve recovered from this allow me to enjoy some spring and summer walking, if I’m well enough to enjoy some winter conditions then that’s a Bruce bonus.

Just being able to get out now is a bonus for anyone I think.

I still have to work full time being in healthcare professional and don't have much time after work in evening's to do anything. I get excited for weekend now hoping it's nice to go out for 10 mile walks just to clear the air ☺️

Tomorrow we see mum, been her bubble since last march and when it snows we um and ar with the traveling to Pennines so I'm sort of hoping it won't snow right now

I'm hoping it does Sunday tho, looks like it'll be a miss though.

Tuesday current looks like 1–2 hours of snow or ice pellets followed by rain. That’s a nice day 5 position to start with I think; can only get better if it goes south.

Posted Temp Ensembles earlier in week - They were only going one way for next weekend.

I watched the local and national weather forecasts after the 10pm BBC News last night. Owain Wyn Evans was talking about a snow event on Saturday in the south of the region, whilst the national weather forecast immediately after made no mention of snow anywhere in the region. Right hand and left hand came to mind!

One of those odd days when the maxima is achieved now, temps dropping through the day.

Weekend looking cold, dry with frosty evenings, nights and mornings. Quite hazy high level cloud, but what's not to like. We've had a run of great usable weekends, and boy do we need them now, had covid arrived in time for last winter, the floods and endless grey and wet would have made going outside very unappealing, and we really all provided well and feel safe should be going outside.

Just looking through the charts this morning, with re to snow, close but no cigar sums it all up I think... (tuesday seems transient according to ECM already at 4 days out) Good signal for some frosty mornings though. Having had 3 decent snow events already this winter I'll take that over mild SWlys.

No signs of any winter weather in the forecast for here now...

The waiting game ensues

Apart from all the cold, nights of sub zero etc in the coming days, I would class that as winter weather, I assume you mean snow?

Met has cancelled the snow warning and restricted it to wales for tomorrow.

Met App has light snow for Tuesday -> Thursday.

Not surprised tomorrow's warning area has been reduced in size. Fully expect it to be a high ground affair only, Wales most likely affected, some areas 200m could see transient snow cover, so possibly parts of West Midlands.

Sunday looks more conducive for low level snow cover, most likely same warning area.

If I lived close to Welsh border in Shropshire or Powys above 200m I would be relishing the weekend prospects, alas such places have little population.

Attention turns to Tuesday, we have an active front more positively aligned, transient snow cover possible, but looks a snow to rain event, and unless it gives a good few inches I'd rather just have rain, and cut the delayed inevitable.. rain to snow events all the way please! February please deliver just one, with the snow then holding a few days please! Preferably a foot, but being greedy, 6 inches would do, not too much to ask!

Lowest temps being forecast for here are 1-2ºC; nothing in the minus figures at all...

Will see what happens

Ha Ha we start of in the middle of a warning as well, so either to our north or south.

As this rain comes into contact with cold air in place, it is likely to readily turn to snow across parts of Wales, the Midlands, and later parts of northern England. 1-4 cm of snow is quite likely away from coasts, with 5-10 cm possible above about 150 metres.

Might be just me but my eyes are now turning to the potential for convection from the east. I know not everyone’s cup of tea but if the 06z GFS verifies then I think that could be our next bit of potential.

We’d get showers up the M62 corridor from this.

This, if it were tomorrow would be that dumping that we have waited for.

We shall see.

Yes I have snow on the MetO app for Tuesday. Would be great if that verified and then we had a convective easterly to follow at the weekend. We can dream.

I can’t see anything other than a downgrade given the way these things have gone recently.

a pattern has developed and as is the case in most winters, there are winners and losers and once again our region looks to be a loser.

that said we are well overdue an upgrade so maybe, just maybe early next week is our turn.
