Well WRF it’s picking up on a small feature early hours Monday morning which could give some snow

WTF can bugger off, all models can! Taking a break from this useless Winter, last actual proper 100% snowfall still March 2018. A couple of very wet falls that didn't stick and a 45 min soft hail snow mix this morn which melted within the hour just doesn't satisfy the snow fix. Luckily the longer term still holds good hope so back in a few days or so. So far 1.5/10.

Managed 3 or 4 decent snow showers here. Little or no cover anywhere here. Showers changed readily to a sleety mix after 1pm.

Looking at the pictures posted earlier it looks as though Blackpool had a better covering than we did here.

Quite good seeing that we live in something akin to Fenlands.

A view from lower Heswall to Wales today.. you can see the snow line at about 50 metres asl in Wales. On the other hand on this side with the WNW wind, the snowline was about 100m ASL.

It was, but this set up has always been our banker for snow here.... we got more from that n/ne a few weeks ago which was a surprise at the time.

A very bleak quite atmospheric mid winter day and cold to boot, maxed out just a bit above 2 degrees.

Moderate pulse of snow this morning, lasted about an hour and half left a cm cover - had a run of such depths in cover!.. thereafter a very misty murky scene, very little brightness, sun tried to poke its head through but didn't. Quite an unusual day in this respect, normally expect such conditions under high pressure, alas the low level surface cold and very slack airstream and airflow has resulted in an inversion type set up.

Current temp 1.1 degrees. A cold frosty night ahead. Not expecting any much snow activity tonight, perhaps a rogue shower.

Tomorrow promises to be a much brighter and clearer day and with light winds, excellent weather for a walk, Not overly warm again, highs of probably 2 degrees.

Tomorrow night a trough feature is expected to move through the region, probably deliver our 5th or 6th 1cm cover! Pity the system moving into S England couldn't have made its way here, a decent snowfall would have occurred.

Still stay hopeful will see a proper cover before the winter is out.

Is that a trough following the low?

I was trying to share a post off the mod thread but it kept saying it couldn't be found.  The post was there but wouldn't copy.

As mentioned, the latest WRF now shows the precip reaching Merseyside again like it was showing yesterday. Max rates for Merseyside around 3.2 mm/h. This is very promising.

Also  shows the small front Monday morning especially in the north.

That's interesting but MetO and ECM have been bullish on this being alot further south and WRF has been changing
