Just noticed the streamer over the Cheshire gap, presumably once the main precip fully clears off to the east/north we could get one slightly north (closer to IoM) to give some more snowfall overnight/during tomorrow?

Is it falling as snow in Cheshire etc?

It’s been lightly sleeting/ snowing here but but v finely the last half hour and not adding much if at all. Looks a little beefier further east towards Macclesfield and the Peaks though. Some heavier scattered showers may also fall overnight by the looks of the radar.

Definitely streamer heading into Cheshire I'm at work so no idea what's falling but it is now rain at the airport

So looks like a bit of height is needed for the snowfall now. Still snow here and no thaw at 170m.

Yep looks like it snow in Stoke and Macclesfield eastwards. Cheshire plain more of a wintry mix but likely to be still wet sleet & snow in any heavier precipitation. You are in a good spot.

These showers are pellets/rain at 3c, shouldn't expect much at low levels until friday

What is it with these daily Antonovs flying overhead at this time?

Car parts for JLR I think.

At work we move a lot of stuff into Europe and are struggling to get trucks to move stuff so I imagine there is a need to get parts in a bit quicker.

Could be wrong mind.

Radar has been incorrect all evening, showing sleet when it was snowing and now rain when it's showing sleet.

just woken up by heavy rain and hail showers with a n annoying constant wind battering the window.

This isn't going to help water levels.

Ice pellets here now mixed with rain. Certainly not snow now. Looks like a lot of the snow cover will be gone by morning. Ah well it was good while it lasted.

Looks like the Weaver may have burst its banks in Northwich? It has smashed it's high water record

The Northwich basin was featured on the news last night as regards flooding.  Lots of lying snow this morning here in Macclesfield, leaving to walk to work shortly, I'll enjoy my walk but at the same time I'll be mindful of the damage and disruption to parts of the region affected by flooding.

Entirely rain/sleet event here. Some local flooding here in Maghull, around the River Alt region especially. Thankfully I’m just far enough away from it.

Wind was really gusty here throughout the night. Got woken up in the night by hail battering the window at one point. Some snow has evidently melted, but a full cover still in place.

Not the best sleep. @Rain Lady has her work cut out today, good luck.

The region as a whole not good at all and our roof decided to leak last night, just what we need.

Flooding situation not good in a lot of places and I guess snow melt won't help in parts. Today and tomorrow look to be much drier though with a few showers, less intense and much less prolonged rainfall compared to the last few days, so hopefully some respite and chance for the flooding situation to improve in affected areas.

Looking like there could be a few more wintry showers in the mix today.

Looks like most of the flood defences held up overnight (some rivers still to peak) so fingers crossed the bullet has been dodged.  Very dramatic day yesterday, to have all that rain, followed by heavy snow.  Hard to remember such a day happening like that before.  Last nights snow is sliding off the cars and falling off the branches around here, so dp's and temps just above freezing.

Certainly feels like the morning after the night before what an event to last long in the memory that one, so what next?looks like the next 36hrs or so will be sunshine and showers any snow to the higher ground.Weekend looking very interesting again both Saturday and Sunday I will leave the full analysis to @Chris.R have a good day and stay safe out there.

C.S

Still a full cover of snow and very icy here think it will all probably have thawed by lunchtime.
