Grim outside right now. Rain lashing against the window here. I'm sure I can hear rattly bits every now and then, so perhaps there is some sleet mixed in.

Check your risk of flooding: get current flood warnings, river and sea levels, check the 5-day forecast or use flood risk maps

Its going to get nasty over the next few weeks if we don't see some settling down. The ground is sodden, nowhere for the water to go. Further flooding looks inevitable.

The rains eased right back here now and by the looks of it; the clouds completely changed direction of travel; looks like it's more from the North now

Heavy rain virtually all day, torrential now at times.  Not often the rain peps up on a south westerly airmass after passing through north wales but the amber warning seems very fitting now.  Scary times in the next few hours with rising river levels.

About 60mm here since this all started.

The Sale Waterpark flood basin sluices are open, for the first time since the 90s according to the team on site there.

I think there will be some snow tonight, how much is up for debate?

Yea, agree! , Just concerned the ground temp will be too high with all this rain lashing down, may take a good few hours to cool down, still though I'm hoping we get a covering

At that rate it won't take long at all.

The ground was frozen solid at the weekend

At least we got an Ice warning for tomorrow now issued by the MET, hopefully will be updated to snow soon.

Had that problem every year a few years back, I had to dig up garden re-flag it and put some proper drainage in it. I hope it isn't near your house mate as you'll have damp problems if it keeps happening and by the looks of things the climate is getting wetter!
