Freezing level in the east of the region should be dropping very soon. Expecting to see  reports of rain turning to ice pellets and then snow by 10 am.

If this was snow we'd be buried here, unfortunately it's just rain at the moment and flooding is going to be an issue for us.

Pretty much what the app says

Temps hit zero with heavy rain before it turns to snow

Regardless of whether it turns to snow or not this week is becoming a very wet one. 20mm on Monday, 13.6mm yesterday and already nearly 12mm so far today. With what is forecast we could get to 80mm by the end of the weekend ??

I expect it’ll be rain all the way here in the north of Merseyside? It’s chucking it down.

Sweet spot looks NE of Appleby. METO got this one right. Radar definite battleground frontal convergence W and E. Big totals. We have 30% chance ❄️ at 16:00.

I've got to go over to my dad's house later. It's at Murton...I'll let you know but it's snowing steadily and sticking in Great Asby.

You have a slight chance between about 1–3 pm. if precip is heavy enough . Here in Halewood I have a slightly better chance but not much better than yours.

Check out the Liverpool Airport TAF. Indicates risk of snow between 12:00 and 18:00, so hopefully Western parts will get to see some falling snow at least this afternoon.

PPN moving E radar returns filling and encroaching W steadily from nothing at 7am  - not here for sure but E Lancs should be in the firing line at altitude.

Slowly but surely the splodge of raindrop on the window is being replaced by the tinkle of ice. Even if this changes to full on snow the ground is so wet I can't see it sticking.
