Slowed down now, not sticking

Yeah not that spectacular is it really.

We are not well placed in the very immediate term, much better towards NE Cheshire and the Peaks, could be different a bit later you never know

We seem to be in the "hole" now. Just a light covering here from the showers so nothing amazing. I think we've got lots more to come this month.

Heavy shower for about 20 minutes gave a couple of cm’s of cover before it eased off again but looking at the radar, there seems to be plenty more heading across Yorkshire towards here so expecting further top up’s.

Blue skies here as well, but no snow....yet!

Quick change of focus - Rain Lady, were you the contributor who was reporting whether 2020 would be your wettest ever (in 50 years)? What was the result? Did we beat 2000? My guess is that we just fell short. Apologies if it was not you, but with the present level of contributions on the white stuff, I'd rather not have to look back over copious number of pages for the last report!

Apologies for delay.   Been a a bit busy.  Data now just about assembled with summary and charts etc.  Hoping to post here later today.

50 yr wettest year record was smashed.   Was 1984.0mm (in 2012).       2020 ended with 2009.6mm.   A serious damaging situation for farmland, buildings and infrastructure.

I've just about made it to Hayfield and back this afternoon picking up some supplies, the roads are okay so far but the traffic is beginning to slow as the snow gets heavier and is settling.

just had a lovely walk, started quite slow and as soon as I got in the house it has decided to really come down, starting to stick proper for the first time this week.

That really is a very impressive shower over Glossop/Hayfield/New Mills/Marple.

Enjoy!

1-2 inches really big flakes at times more like clumps... looking pretty

You got lucky with the band. We went right through the gap so only have a sugar dusting so far.

Don’t post often but this is the heaviest snow we’ve had in my part of Stockport for some years

I don't think today's snow will melt pretty fast. I think its close enough to be an Ice Day.

Even the Met Offices show top temp of 0C here.

We were forecast 1c today, it topped out at 3c from a low of-3c. There's just enough frost left on the lawn for some of the snow to stick but hard surfaces are all wet.
