I think the second band of showers could hit us here in the south of the region exp around 3.30-4 pm .. 2cm perhaps? -0.3c.. currently in Sale

Snow in Manchester is a given now, infact most areas east of the M6 will do ok. West of the M6 will see fluctuating conditions, sleet & wet snow with local coverings.

Looking good for those further south in the region now, no worries about things being on the wrong side of marginal, was full on snow here.

Left a light covering, if intensity was a bit more consistent, could of recorded a tad more I feel.

Still did not expect a trough to cross the region today, I thought the main potential was more overnight with that front on the BBC graphs crossing the region. Might be more marginal but who knows.

Radar showing the very smallest of pink pixels over western fells, which bodes well for possible sudden homegrown snow shower development over Lake District. Skies have that look about them, cloud bubbling up out if nothing...

For a change nothing marginal here. Its all snow and has filled in the gaps where the NYE snow melted yesterday. Only a light covering but nice to actually see a bit of winter weather. As long as it holds together I'm sure those further south will see snow as well.

Perfect winter's day. Hard, rime frost, bright sunny morning, heavy snow shower to give a covering. Sun and cloud over the snow giving a dramatic landscape over the Dales and Lakes.

Sky is now looking very ominous to my NNE.

0C/0C at the Airport. Feels cold enough and radar looks good.

It really doesn’t feel cold enough to snow. I’m stood waiting for a Covid rapid test and I’m not cold.

Ground still frozen away from the sun. Maybe we can sneak a temp drop in before it clouds over..
