Have a great New Year everyone, what a year 2020 was for us in the Peak District with Noctilucent Clouds, Comet Neowise, 2 weeks of near non-stop Thunderstorm potential (and direct hits from a few cells) in the summer, a few local Tornadoes, Wildfires, and now Snow. Here's to see what 2021 brings..

The odd flake falling here too.

Can anyone remember the last time, it snowed on xmas and news day 7 days apart?

Well after my last post it turned  to sleet when it got heavier but still it started as snow so going to count it as a day of snow falling. It was better than nothing.

0.7°C.

Happy 2021 to all Netweather members.

let’s hope that that the headlines for the next couple of months are massive falls of Coronavirus cases and snow.

Light fluffy snow in Denton. Can’t remember the last time I had a white Christmas and white new year.

"....... Once again, any decent snowfall will be in the east, Kent etc the usual places........Anyway the punchline is the north west ain’t getting anything firing this so do t get your hopes up!"

This is what some member said on here Boxing Day or at the last part of the post, I won't say who they are

This my post straight after that

"I think yesterday showed what could happen, no one expected to see snow falling anywhere in our region. I expect it to be mostly dry, chilly, some frost, how severe will depend obviously on cloud amounts and wind, Don't think there will be much wintry stuff away from the hills when the colder air comes in after the fronts moved through over night."

Lol well that was a good forecast

Yes same here...I can only guess 2010 because of its record breaking cold December.  Kind of only just scraped it on xmas day  it was only intermittent dandruff here but falling snow, is falling snow.

Happy New Year to North West members - let's hope for a memorable wintry January to come.

Yes it's projected to only touch parts of the region but could always expand or squeak further north.  Definitely something to keep an eye on.

Selfishly I need it 50 miles further north but good to see interest at such short notice.
