Anything of note in Barnsley yet? Currently out Wortley way at Bromley Farm and its snowing but fairly small flakes. Won't be heading home for an hour or so.

What a disgustingly unlucky day today! Just not fallen right for us here, typified by sleet and snow barely 5-10 miles away now, which will miss just to the north. Adds insult to the injury of the stalling weather front further to the north.

Amazing pictures from Harrogate in particular. Seems photos will have to do today

The models have been extremely disappointing in their accuracy regarding today's precip. They caught up during the day of course but that's no excuse for any of the hi-res. All absolutely appalling during the past 24 hours.

I tend to find the hi res fairly useless once or twice they might get it right but mostly they are off. Your much better looking at radar and getting the idea of the rate of movement and making your call from that.

Well there's some precipitation to the north of us but nobody from the north of Sheffield has said anything.  After that moves away west there isn't anything to the east. The chances I would say about 10%

No snow in north Sheffield falling. Not even snizzle (Shirecliffe).

We can only imagine if this had stalled further south but one mans gains is another a loss. Happy for those in Harrogate and north Leeds!

Models looks finely balanced in the future so surprise battleground snowfalls  should be relatively commonplace.

I especially feel for those in East Yorkshire - it really is difficult to get a good setup for snow there - I mean when it looks good with easterly winds - it’s now too mild with high SST. Surely that wouldn’t have happened 10-20 years ago....an east wind from Europe in Jan meant snow!??

It ain’t been great in Sheffield but we have had a about 4 mornings with snow cover.

Not with full cover here and nothing measurable apart from the half way through one morning.

Ironically it seems to be building back north over North Leeds.

As per usual nothing here in Rotherham, if Sheffield's not seeing any we haven't got a prayer. ☹️

Look North with the biggest joke of the day. 'They said it was coming, and they were RIGHT' it said

Wrong media reporting is dangerous. So many caught out today with the biggest 12 hour fail we've seen in years.

Where's Hudson in the studio explaining what went wrong. Oh that's right, no where....

Makes me so mad!

It's a strange one out there.

This is from our camera, the night vision is off, there's no security lights on or street lights, but you can still see everything!

The wonder of snow

Look north still going for southerly lunge through South Yorkshire

they'll be lucky. it's all going north-westerly now.

it's definitely developed an upward tilt to it, give it another half hour or so and it'll be gone over me
