The best snowfalls I’ve experienced are the ones that are totally unexpected. Not going to bother with the forecasted ones anymore!

Turned to snow in cleckheaton with the heavier echos now here but not settling. I bet the likes of Birstall and Bradford are getting pounded right now. Slight hint of southeast movement in the edge of the band too which may be something to cling to.

Got a reasonable covering here now after a few heavier bursts. The snow drought has finally ended!

We must have 4-5cm now and still belting down.

Harrogate seems to have got even more battered by it.  Euro4 on the money .

Heavy snow and settling despite the very wet ground this morning in west Leeds. Very marginal, but I think ourt 140m above sea level has helped. Though not quite the epic BFTE style weather, this is our 4th settling snow fall so far this winter (many more sleetly/ wet snow events), and temps well below average, so its just great to see good solid, consistent seasonal weather.

I see the 'mild spell' on the forecast is not as mild as previously forecast. Now forecast to get no higher than 6c, with continued night frosts, before dropping back (and potentially much colder) from next week onwards. I do think the persistence of the cold has lowered the ground temps - ground frosts appear very readily now and the tap water temp is absolutely freezing!

Yes we are getting battered here. Around 7-8cm now but it will gradually become lighter in the next hour or so.

Mist and fog here with damp ground. Not too hopeful on that wintry stuff just to the north.

The good precip oh so close! Sure we'd be high enough here at 220m ASL to get some decent accumulating snow as well.

I hope it can start to move south with some authority soon, before it fizzles out

Only a very thin slushy covering here in East Leeds. I’m at 89m so quite a bit lower down than the other Leeds posters.

Here in otley 100m just about settling, about an inch so far. Drove through yeadon not long ago was absolute chaos, what I'd give for just extra 200ft in altitude. Temperatre 0.4c here meh.

Not even an inch here. Probably less than a cm.

Light mainly sleet in Bingley. Wet ground and nothing settling. I'm too low.

Last Saturday was far superior here.
