Just woken up and had a peep. Couldn't resist. Snowing heavy here. Not big flakes but really coming down.

Just light rain here but I look to have been right on the southeast edge of the band so far. Any reports from the M62 corridor Leeds to Bradford cos that's where I'll be heading at 5am?

Seems to have turned to light snow here in the last half hour, hard to tell as its small flakes, bit at the very least it's sleeting. However this (here at least) is so far a letdown. Seems to all be sliding southwest instead of south so far. No doubt though that if it was heavier, it would be decent so hoping it peps up/moves more due south shortly.

It's raining again here and the radar looks like, if anything, it's shifting even more westwards in the short term. So far it's summing up this cold spell... Close to being good, but never quite making it!

Just rain here. Really needed the heavier precipitation for evaporative cooling.

Set off early for work, thinking the roads might be bad further west lol! Anyway, rain/sleet rain between Garforth and Tingley (M62 J28). A dusting of wet snow at Tingley with sleet falling. Snow at Birstall IKEA junction 27 with a covering of wet snow 1 or 2cm but looks very pretty. A-roads a bit dicey around Birkenshaw with a dusting of snow (less than 1cm) and falling light to moderate snow. Now in cleckheaton and its light rain/sleet. Snowline then is roughly 150-200m in West Yorkshire depending on intensity. What a bust!

Yes a disappointing start to the day. Wet with rain here. Any meaningful precipitation is way out to the west and not that inspiring anyway. Some heavier stuff to the NNE but it is hours away and could look very different by the time it reaches here.

Still, it makes the morning commute easier!

Rain here in otley even at 100m. Think we are well within the mild sector unfortunately. Thought the colder air to the north would have digged in by now and turned it all to snow. Temperature a very dissapointing 1.3c!

Still think we can get a bit of an event out of this, temp should start dropping soon and it will turn, just a shame with missed out on hours of precipitation wasted!

WOW.....moderate drizzle. Expected to wake up this morning to snow piling up....well disappointing. Seems to have moved quite far west don’t remember forecasts doing this. Ironic that when forecasts say rain it’s snows and when predicting snow it rains. I hope their is more to this event than this. Please snow gods.

Matt Taylor on BBC Breakfast just said the snow will turn back to rain across some parts of Yorkshire this morning.

What snow?!

From bbc weather page:

''Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday

Sunday will be cloudy for the northern half of the country with spells of rain. Cloud will push as far as Wales, but it will remain fine and dry in the south. Monday will be breezy and cloudy for most with spells of rain for many. Wet and windy in the south on Tuesday, drier and brighter in the north, but spells of snow in central parts of the UK.''

Not sure how seriously we should take anything from bbc, we wills see
