Rain, sleet to snow event this one that's if it gets heavy enough. The first part of the front just edging in here is just about dead. Radar says it's sleeting here but it's dry.  Temps edging up slowly so not surprised some are reporting light rain.

Snow in Leeds but only enough to put a few odd patches on cars and wet the ground.

Snowing in Barnsley, near the hospital. Not heavy, but it's proper snow - not sleet. Bodes well I guess?

Front has pivoted a little which seems to be helping radar returns as the precipitation within the front is more vertical against the Pennines. Bradford producing good echo returns now. Will get a report from BD11 later as height.

Yeah I think when the blob currently over NE England hits the party will start.

I think the angle of attack from the precipitation at NE england looks perfect. This could be a good event coming up

It's snowing lightly here, has been for a few hours now. Nothing exciting, that looks like it comes tomorrow! Good luck at low elevations, I hope you get snow too.

Not gonna be a good comnute for those working in the morning and roads will be quieter so snow on roads might be an issue in heavier falls.

Yeah temperatures starting to drop off quickly around Sheffield, now only 0.1c dewpoint -2 hopefully gets rid of any marginal problem. South of 120 ASL for me also helps.

Good cold spells or even major ones probably show up last minute especially during an ssw. Theres time for them to really open the flood gates at that timescale near a slider to cross throug the channel and bingo. Plenty time for this to manifest into something at short notice i think

I'm not wasting this on the mod thread. Tonight's fronts dropping down the country into an existing cold pool don't occur every year.

This is old school and could get rather interesting as we move through the month
