Cold walk to start this morning. On top with a colleague walking round Longshaw estate. Patchy Snow cover and frequent showers of sleet and wet snow. Enjoyed the walk but those snow pellets can sting a bit in the wind.

Is there any snow left now or has it all melted away?

Thread resurrection. How're you guys? If recent runs/charts verify we might be soon singing "I'm dreaming of a white Easter".

I'll wait until a few days before before I get excited.

Tonight a chance of a surprise local forecast snow overnight and mentioned also on Beeb forecast. GFS showed that yesterday but has removed the idea for tonight. Anyway get the Barbies out for Monday and Tuesday early summer on the cards for Tuesday before turning cooler on Wednesday.

Chilly on the East coast side of the Wolds but nothing exceptional for March, had a sharp downfall about 11.30 this morning for about 20 mins, seemed to have dodged anything more significant so far!

Two days ago Snow now Summer and GFS hinting after a return to normal Thursday and Friday we may get another bash this weekend. Cold spell next week already on the chopping board so I'll expected to have gone by Wednesday or Thursday.

It's glorious out there!

I got to 18.7c yesterday max, but it's already just reached that here now today so I'm expecting to break the first 20c here today

Just recorded a 20.3C here, beating the previous record of 20.2C set in March 2012. That's the warmest March day in 41 years of records.

Tomorrow looks like it may beat that aswell.

Of course it will turn colder as I'm having the boiler replaced so expect the coldest Easter week on record.

Topped out at 21.3c here today by the looks of it. Pretty good.

No idea what the previous max was for my area though

Anyone getting excited for next week or is it just me?

Yeah will certainly be an interesting weather period. I'm pleased after the weeks of dross we've just had!

Hopefully we're far enough North to see something. Sunday night into Monday should be good. Looking forward to the strong convection we should have. Big cloud scapes, rain, sleet, hail, snow and thunder all possible!

Interestingly, today's top temp of 8c was from midnight last night. Couldn't be any different today than yesterday!

The short term METO outlook is also very interesting : "... snow and hail almost anywhere".

One of the few times I hope it goes tits up. Having a new bioler put in next week and at the present time the choice is hot water or if I turn the heating on luke warm water and luke warn radiators. So we are guaranteed the coldest April spell on record.

All the forecasts I have seen are emphasising snow showers mainly near coasts... Surely we are late enough in the year that there should be plenty of inland convection, no? I mean, isn't that why "April Showers" is a thing? I'll be outraged if we have to lose that glorious barbecue weather for the sake of some overnight frosts and no snow!
