image.thumb.png.cbf3707a22437785423ce07409dcc548.pngCurrent WRF for Glossop, I totaled it up and when the cold gets in, we receive 30mm to the end of the table, nice at 1mm =1cm snow or better.

Ignore anything less than 1mm, it's probably thick cloud.

A few more radar grabs from 1 March 2018, showing how the showers gradually merged into one blob. That’s definitely what we want to see happening:

Looking at those it’s hard to see why we didn’t get any snow here. I remember reading all your posts with snow envy.

I recall tracking the cloud from near Denmark and Holland and seeing that clump.

Actually having looked at this update i can't speak.....

Weather for UK, Ireland and the world. Sailing, Marine Weather, Weather maps, radar, satellite, climate, historic weather data, information about meteorology...

That is one of the best updates I can remember. A wall of orographic snow. I can't bloody wait.

It was very strange that Hull didn’t do better, prime place for an easterly you’d think. Better luck this time hopefully.

Funny you should say that Craigers, i was just passing a bit of time before ECM 12z so thought i would have a quick look at the much maligned CFS for a bit of fun.

I did read posts on the mod thread that this model did pretty well picking up on this upcoming cold and following up with your charts these are the 168 from CFS... not too great at going under exactly but great for us non the less.. I wonder what the ECM 168 will look like.

Hopefully the same!

Still think theres going to be more in way of snow for tomorrow than forecast with that system over us. Thinking 10cm in some places easy. Pennine areas and south yorkshire look  primed for the heavier stuff and then boom from the east for all❄❄❄

Its very strange how we lose a bit of accumalated snow towards the end. Its either light snow or just not fully picking this up at 40+ hours

I will counter that comment with the fact that Cheese posted the 06z not the 12z which is not quite as good

Looking at parameters for sunday heights dont really become conducive for deeper convection till monday afternoon so i do feel it may be a case showers are light but very persistent and organised.

I can still see moderate accumalations as everything will stick with the low temps and dps but monday and tuesday are the days that excite me

The 'dry zone' north of the south east low is very apparent on that. Thankfully it looks like its just far enough away from our region. Frustrating for midlanders though!

Surely it has to be better than the Harmonie.... Snow for higher ground only on this but some good accumulations in the North Sea

Ahhh makes more sense! Yes the 12z didnt look as good as expected with nothing for low ground. Our last snowfall didnt show settling however until within 24 hours so i await euro4 0z tomorrow

Its very similar to the Harmonie in all fairness but i wouldnt take any notice until within 24 hours

If the arpege isnt showing any settling at this distance id worry though

Would much rather get a streamer effect like they did in the central belt of Scotland, they ended up with a red warning there
