Yes quite the change in weather.  Just got very wet on my dog walk.
Windy gusts too.  Hammering down as I type.

Squall has come through here, strong winds and heavy rain. Very dull and grey at the moment. Radar shows it clearly. Hopefully will brighten up for lunchtime bike ride

Nick F won't be happy with the mini-tornado label but

#Thorngumbald near Hull just after 10am

Radar from that time showing the active cold front, line convection

My sis-in-law thought there was thunder in Hull just before this, was she mistaken? There was no lightning showing on the weather radar

Doesn't seem to have been any. Unless she heard something else being thrown about.

A bit of a round up from today's energetic weather, particularly for towns around the Humber.

Quite a start to the working week with torrential rain, squally winds and possible tornado damage near Hull and near Grimsby. Tiles off, fences and walls damaged and a motorhome on its roof!

Somebody's just turned the taps back on, tipping it down now, still very little breeze!

Bright sunshine for most of the day, with a moderate breeze, this evening is cool but not cold as you expect for this time of year?!

After a wet early morning, we had a dry day, albeit breezy with a sunny afternoon which felt mild temp wise, unsettled is the theme for the weekend it would seem?

Well after a fine start it began to rain about 13.30, now fairly heavy and persistent,  very grey and obviously going to be a wet night.

Lonely frost pockets and windy high hills dot North Yorkshire’s remote valleys with rare micro-climates that might be missed but for one man’s mission to capture the county’s extremes.

Strange end to the afternoon following a generally dry sunny day. Got v dark and stormy-looking at Whitby, and whilst the centre of the town was bone dry, the water was running down the roads going south near the Abbey. Such was the local nature of the showers over the past 2 days.

I was conscious of heavy rain on the caravan roof during the night. Having said that, we missed most of the rain today inland until I came home over the NY Moors to Whitby late afternoon in a cloudburst. Still some showers around but focus is now on the wind which is blowing around now and is forecast to get stronger during the night. Hopefully some ear plugs may help me to get some sleep before I head home to Cheshire tomorrow!

Decent day actually along the coast. I was in a t shirt for a time around lunchtime working around Glaisdale and Egton Bridge.

Finished around Westerdale/Kildale area about 4.30ish and the heavens opened suddenly!
