Evening showers of rain, hail and sleet pity they didn't keep going a bit longer may have sneaked a bit of snow out of them.

I've been watching out for sleet/snow in the showers but I think Lincoln has been marginally too far south for that - the nearest I got was rain and 5C yesterday evening.  But there was some thunder and lightning just to the north/north-east on Wednesday, and there was hail on Tuesday and I saw another hail shower about half an hour ago today.  Today is the fourth "convective day" in a row here and possibly more to come next week after we get the wet and windy weather of Saturday and early Sunday out of the way.  It may well feel very different next week with temperatures close to or even slightly above the seasonal norm.

What a shocker of a day in Bridlington !  For a May day very very poor and it could have easily passed for an October or March day.

Been a very cold spring and recently plenty of rain , sleet and hail.

Really needs some proper spring warmth and sunshine , with a few heavy May type showers going forward.

Been plenty of sunshine in April but oh so cold with at least 9 night frosts.

Let's have some 18c+ days please now !

We went to York yesterday morning to pick something up, and it was very cold, 4 - 5C on the car external temp, with a little bit of winteryness at one point. I hate hot weather, anything over 23 ish makes me miserable, but this spring has been cold. One thing with living here is that we rarely get unpleasant heat. I wonder if we can finally clean the woodburner out and sweep the chimney, we usually do it once we have finished fires for the summer.

Just had the heaviest Hail/Rain shower I have ever experienced. Thunder and Lightning as well, but that was just an afterthought given the volume of hail stones around 5mm in diameter. Fields turned white even though it was heavy rain as well, really freaky.

Heavy shower rumbling a few miles to the south here I would guess currently near Pickering.
We have had about 3mm in two brief but heavy showers already.

Heavy rain now with a few rumbles, looking on the radar and that red blob heading straight for us!

Yes we had two separate thundery cells scrape past/through Grenoside earlier  The first one had some hail in it but the second one, around 3pm, gave some nice lightning as it skirted to the east.

A few more on radar to come but they look less angry than earlier cells.

Most glorious full arc double rainbow here an hour or so ago.
Had one a couple of nights ago too in the same position.
Beautiful.

Well that kicked off! The front edge of the rain turned out to be soft hail and , after the worst had passed over, we got a big c2g over the Keighley Rd (across the moor)

The rain renewed its intensity and we got 11 more flashes according to Blizortung.Org

2 days out of 2 now!

It kicked back into gear - saw a fair few nice CG's and heard some lovely growling thunder as well. Reckon it'll have been louder in Greno, eh @markyo given you're a couple of miles closer

Lovely evening here in Rotherham, partly cloudy skies and the birds are singing!!

Seen some of the hail in Sheffield, looks like snow!
