A low of -6.9c here this morning which is the coldest temperature I've recorded in 8 years. Currently still around 4cm of lying snow outside after a slight thaw in the sun today

My weather station at Thixendale on the Yorkshire Wolds fell to -13.2c overnight which was the coldest place in England. Last night was a perfect set up for cold there with around 10cm of snow, light winds and clear skies. Here's a few pics from that area:

Suprised how little snow melt there was today considering it was clear blue sky for majority of the day. Still almost got full cover in garden not ready for any spring like weather just yet save it till to end of March April time.

Average and dry will do if cant stay cold 8 or 9 will feel very pleasant anyway temps in teens are just wrong at this time of year. Personally want more snow tbh and be nice to have an coldish winter and not be ruined by expectionally mild end to Feb even an average winter be nice.

Just been to the shop in Bridlington, temperature difference is bigger than I have ever seen before, home is showing -5 Bridlington +1, I know car thermometers are not accurate, but its the difference not the actual value. Distance is 4 miles and home is 75m higher, both locations are about 1 mile from the coast.

Pretty much we just need this to show more on the future runs now and gain traction. Need the low to the west to dig deeper south to aid lift

Alot of winter is over posts in the mod thread . Things might look totally different on the charts by this Sunday. Got to hope

Anyone who is writing off the rest of the winter can do so at their own peril. I’m obviously not saying anything else will happen snow/cold wise but we still have a long way to go. Things can change in the matter of days  and we still have several weeks left..

Just saw Beverley mentioned on the BBC1 weather forecast, it was listed as having been -9 C overnight.
About 7 miles away, in my village I have a reading of -4.1 C as I type.
I think that's the coldest of the winter so far.

The showers could be interesting for the coast today ??????

Already a light snowfall here in Bempton, and with the ground frozen solid its settling. Road which was clear and had dried is now white over.

Had -6.5C first thing this morning, coldest night I can remember here since Dec 2010 when we hit -11C. Come over dark here now with snow in the air.

Into late February there is a signal for higher than average pressure to expand westwards leading to an increased chance of snow showers redeveloping in the east, for conditions in the north to become generally quite settled and for unsettled weather in the south, with disruptive snow possible. A similar picture continues into March, though milder conditions in the west look more likely to spread northwards.

It dropped to -6.3C here last night, the coldest night since January 2013.

Now snowing lightly. Still a reasonable cover here from Tues/Weds though it has compacted to 2-3cm and is patchy in parts.

Moderate snow here now, enough to make the roads white, but only a passing shower looking at the radar,
