Got down to -6 here, but don't think that breaks the records locally.

-5.5 here. Nice couple winters days ahead for me then mild southerlys pick up. Could feel very mild later next week. Not much sign of this block holding that firm now for us. Poor, poor way to end this cold spell.

I'm ready for spring now tbh so that means best of snow to come lol.

A few more very light showers last night so this morning very white with the severe overnight frost.

For next week, according to the overnight models, it’s looking very much like the rotund female vocalist has sung her tune wrt to cold hanging on...

I need some help.

I made the mistake of dipping my toe in the MOD thread and now I feel like ending it all.

I'm fairly sure there are some manic depressives in there!

Temps shooting up here in the morning sunshine. Can't imagine it'll stay below zero for very long

Didn’t beat my station record of -5.9C on the 28th February 2018. Really thought I would be in with a chance last night, shows how remarkable that Beast from the east was I suppose!

Got to an bone chilling -1 last night though were not exactly known for really low temps here and we did have alot of cloud cover to. Beautiful sunshine now cant beat days like this expecting an rapid thaw of snow though sure most in shade will survive couple of days though.

Nothing much for our region. Milder day by day Sunday onwards but mostly dry is the good news.

Yes going by Meto I’m showing very little participation for the next 7 days and getting up to double figures temp wise

Alot of winter is over posts in the mod thread . Things might look totally different on the charts by this Sunday. Got to hope

Bizarre posts really when we have height rises to the north of us. Yes they might initially be on top of us but there's way more potential from this sort of setup than a zonal train running through the country

Managed a low of -8.2 this morning. Lowest I've ever recorded, that is in a slight valley which I suspect is why it's so low, but still a good result!

And one or two professionals are still hinting at a return to cold later in the month...

Has he said anything about what’s on his doorstep now in the South West?

He said, above average temps (10-12c) for South West by Monday.

Models not showing these temps for our region currently, albeit definitely less cold than currently.

Got down to -5.6 C which is my coldest night since Jan 17 (-6.1 C) 2013, and still 85% snow cover, only 1 cm but in any shade there is little sign of any melt again today.

I've seen loads of Winters over posts on social media as well, I think some need reminding that some of our biggest Snowfalls have happened in March.

Hills around Sheffield had over a foot of Snow late April in 1981.

Rampage down to -6.6C according to the Davis. BBC reckon less cold tonight but already close to their predicted mins. GFS going for another deep freeze. Pavements more tricky this evening as melted snow is forming sheet ice. Could be some freezing rain over the weekend as well yuk.

As for winter being over well in 17 days it will be technically and I think April is spring under any calendar but happy to be corrected.

One thing about the lion cub from the east GFS picked this up miles ahead of the ECM which was late to the party. Sadly the extended easterly shown by all was total flop pity really. For all it weakness's like over doing rainfall at short time periods it does occasionality pick up some interesting weather well ahead of the other models at times. GFS is showing a spring like weather on the 21st to 23rd wonder if it'll get that right.

If this is it for snow, then bring on spring and some lighter nights, hopefully with some drier weather!
