Outlook is finely balanced into next week but Arpege 12z maintains the interest for Sunday with light to moderate snow across the region from around 10am until 7pm!

Like everyone else in line, just had a belter of a shower, 10 mins and the roads were covered in about 1-2 cm

Nothing really for me today, a few light showers. Pleased to see some have enjoyed heavy showers still!

I know about humidity and dew points (thanks to pointers from people on here) but this just fascinates me!

it's been fine and sunny all day. then that hefty shower appeared and the temp and DP quickly converged on each other.

also, we hit 2c earlier today here, so no Ice Day

Well this has been depressing. Unlike 05, 09, 10 and 10 and 18 no organised feature has developed.

Still cold and a covering persisting at the parents but right now this is more the love child of 05 and 12 than 10 and 18.

Shows what could have occurred if the showers had been a bit less scattered! - get under a heavy one and it settles very quickly. It's just you often had to wait a day for the next one!

oh no what is confidence rate?

Finely balanced I’d say.

All models currently bring less cold air in next week, but it takes 2 or 3 attempts from the West before they finally remove the very cold air.  Todays output seems more positive given that it’s a slower transition and currently looks like the cold holds on longer hence the snow during the transition.

The other option, and for me not to be discounted at the moment, is that the fronts stall and the cold air fights back from the East.

Wonder how cold we'll get tonight. Got down to - 7 last night, and we're already at - 2. Hopefully we'll keep clear skies now all the way through till dawn (I'm done with the snow, what we had of it )

Even Feb 2012 delivered a 15cm snowfall, even though most of it melted.

The showers are coming in from the ENE now and not NE so keep an eye on those around the Humber North instead of Bridlington/Scarborough way, turning E/SE later.
