Nice shower passed through with big flakes but only lasting 5 or 10 mins just need them most now to minimise any melt once the sun comes out.

Afternoon all, I was in theory working on a job in Barton upon Humber today, as a few other members said yesterday definitely a better event over here to home, just been parked in a decent intense shower with modest flakes, decent covering too.

The auto forecast on here is suggesting a decent event Saturday afternoon into Sunday morning. Yet again it's the "always 5 days away" rule though

Thoughts from anyone? Possibility of it coming off?

Well, a really nice day here, the odd light shower but predominantly sunny - and for the first time this year I can feel some real warmth in the sun out of the wind. Probably about 2 cms of lying snow this morning, which is still largely intact in the shade, but mostly gone where the sun has got to work. Whilst this is a decent cold spell, sitting in the sun this morning having a cup of tea has really got me looking forward to spring.........

If only we could get some bigger showers going like those over Scotland!

They're looking like getting going more today over us. Hopefully we can get a few of those over Scotland later, intensity wise

Might not have had surprise snowfall but the radars given me a surprise. Within 5 minutes most of the precipitation disappears in the North Sea and somehow appears clumped together in wales. Very strange.

The radar looks to be getting quite busy around the Humber!  Should be good for Eastern areas.

Will we get some decent activity inland?  Stay tuned folks!

My 'MetO' rainfall radar is down? The off shore appears to be back on the NetW radar though?

Yep heavy snow shower here in north east Sheffield, not expecting it to amount to much though but we'll see.

We need some of those heavy showers that's just past through South Yorkshire early evening to give us a widespread covering which will still be there in morning.

Sunday 14 Feb - Tuesday 23 Feb

It will remain cold or very cold with strong winds on Sunday but potentially turning milder over western areas. Outbreaks of rain and snow, potentially heavy for some southwestern areas are possible, whilst staying mostly dry and bright in central and southeastern areas. Further into this period, snow and wintry hazards are likely to continue which could affect mainly northern areas and eastern areas, especially over higher ground but not confined to. Although confidence weakens later in the period, the best of any sunshine looks to be in eastern and northeastern areas, with unsettled conditions mainly towards the west. Strong winds are likely throughout with the risk of coastal gales and temperatures overall remaining cold, with mild interludes in the west.

Haven’t had chance to post but we’ve had a great couple of days. Frequent snow showers both yesterday and today and woke up to a good top-up this morning. Some of the showers have been really beefy with huge flakes. And to think some people were suggesting a couple of days ago that North Yorkshire could miss out!

Doesn’t look like the amber warning further south was justified based on what I’ve seen on the radar. These events are so fickle when modelled it really does come down to radar watching.

We've managed to get around 2cm now thanks to frequent snow showers since mid-morning. That brings the 8 year wait for more than 1cm to an end. About time!

Pleased but grim at same time even low lying area's of East Yorkshire should expect at least an min fall of 5 to 10 cms most winters much more in good ones and im including the coast in that to.

Done very well over the last 36 hours in Newbald .......about 4 to 5 inches ( and more like 8 up the hill ) . We got really lucky last night with some direct hits from some mega showers. At last lowland East Yorkshire has got some decent snow out of this. ( about bloody time too !)
