I have to say I'm losing a little faith in this Easterly at the moment.  Hoping for a surprise between now and Wednesday but not expecting it at the moment.

Still I have a dusting and it is bitter outside!  Looking forward to seeing whether we can achieve some really low minima when the wind does eventually drop out

Might be wrong but there appears to be still a hell of a lot of activity still in the North Sea, so don't think we are done just yet.

As I shown on my earlier post the intensity is transferring southwards from whitby area

Don't know if it's my radar fatigue kicking in but these showers are beefing up progressively southwards from the circle area. Keep the faith

Agreed, this could be the start of a more intense streamer that Euro4, Arome and Arpege have modelled crossing into South Yorkshire at 22:00. Interesting.

Had about a cm covering here again since the sun went down. If the showers keep up overnight might wake up to a little more...

Yeah I'm not hopeful either, the showers seem to be losing their intensity as they get close to us. Ah well, could be worse, could be pouring with rain and 12 degrees

Shower activity is definitely on the decline imo

At least picking up after the mutt will put some warmth back in your hands.

Has Leeds not had any snow today? Watching the match and was expecting at least an accumulation of snow on the sides but nothing?

Nothing at all I live about 3 miles away we have had a few snow flurries but that’s it.

Just a slight hint of some larger showers breaking out on the latest radar off the Humber?

The darker areas are starting to develop more like the heavier stuff piling into the Edinburgh area?  If you squint anyway?!

Might be talking rubbish but that's all I got optimism wise!

Had heavy showers here but south Leeds (where Elland Road is) missed them I think. Even so, it was just a dusting that has largely melted. Disappointing day.

Not sure who to believe, BBC says heavy snow showers from 10pm, Met Office not interested. Saying that, according to the met office there's heavy snow here between 8.00 and 9.00pm but there's been nothing other than a light flurry...

There's a good covering outside now. Its just never got going all day is the problem. A brief 5 min shower then 20 min wait for the next one. The showers have never really streamed or filled out - certainly not for this area anyway

I take it this info is from apps?  They give a general idea but can be way out at times with symbols they put on them.

You can't beat following the radar for accuracy when you're just wanting to know next hour or two.

It’s a total fail for us, let’s be honest. Hands down the worst easterly ever.

Its really under whelming for majority of us. I think we all expected more from this. Biggest bust for an easterly in my time of weather watching. Far cry from 2010, 2013 and 2018 which delivered and brought around 25-30cm alone from just one round! I don't know what went wrong with this one, was we over estimating the conditions or was it bad timing?
