Trains stopped between Sheffield & Manchester due to drifting snow.

Honestly i might just pack my bags and move to the top of Kinder

I have been up there many a time in winter, not this year though due to COVID

i will try and dig one of my photos out to show you a big snow drift from up there.

Looks like North Derbyshire should get some soon looking at the streamer off the coast.

Hopefully, as it has been rubbish here today

Bradford is not a part of us, let's just ignore that area of the world. We all agree it's awful.

I wouldn't call Leeds wonderful. As others said in Sheffield the peak district is on your door step. Sadly the Derbyshire Police don't consider Sheffield local so you get a fine even if less than ten minutes drive.

Oh I like Leeds but admiteldy it has no character because everything is new and a bit generic.

My complaints about Sheffield were more aimed at the center where you come off the train to a very old looking Soviet building on the hill behind and then you basically have an entire shopping street abandoned near the tall building.

I lived near Holmfirth so know there are some lovely villages between Huddersfield and Barnsley.

Paradoxically though while Bradford has a nicer city center it's horrid outside of that whereas Sheffield has it's nice areas (exempting the outskirts of Bradford, half of which have councillors who want to join Leeds).

I've been a member on here for a few days, enjoying it but there is one member who just seems to moan constantly and it really does spoil it!!

This goes off in most of reginal groups, its just frustration of missing out on Snow when they see others just a few miles down road getting a decent amount, it wasn't as bad yesterday because everyone was missing out.

Update from up’Norrrf Yorkshire way...

Pateley Bridge area of the Nidd Valley ??
lots of flurries though out the day, some small flake efforts some large flakes and persistent for maybe 30-45mins and one for maybe just over an hour (ish).

all in all snowing all day on and off, beautiful to watch but... nothing really settling and staying ??

not complaining in any way, as it’s been super fun glancing out the window to see which of the different types of snow we had as the day progressed...

maybe more through the night...

maybe not...

??❄️❄️❄️??

Obviously not at the moment, but you cannot beat a Saturday afternoon/evening out in Sheffield

Quite a few of us make this trip especially during the warmer months....some great boozers

Wow just had a blizzard here,  30 mins of the heaviest snow I’ve seen since 2010 everything covered over now. Brutal in those winds it takes your breath away lol

And still snowing!

Yeah, not sure what people expect. With these narrow streamer-like setups most people inevitably miss out while a lucky few get a decent covering. Of course we’re going to moan! I’m not exactly going to be sitting here grinning like the Cheshire cat because it’s snowing in bloody Rotherham am I?

The band that's been coming in over Scunthorpe and Doncaster towards Sheffield does look as though its breaking up a little.

Unfortunately not, they're all drifting slightly south of west so we missed it again. Its not looking great upwind at the moment, really need a straight easterly here for our best chances but don't see that happening tonight

Let's hope the whole county gets a decent snow cover between now and tomorrow morning then we can all be happy. If it means my area misses out for a few hours then so be it.

I'd disagree, Leeds is alright! Much better than it was. Bradford is awful, you're correct !
