Is that all of Yorkshire or just south Yorks please? Basically, is it gonna snow in Leeds?!

To be fair mate it was late afternoon until tomorrow now its night...we will see but the large totals you envisaged are disappearing at a rate of knots, take my hat off to you sticking your neck on the line though

Had lying snow all day. About 2cm at 7.30a.m Rose to 5 and back to a few after the additional snow showers and sun thaw. Pic from this afternoon. Snowing again now

Hardly the stuff of legend but delighted as first lying snow of the winter - Brigg is 4m ASL so any snow from the west is generally a non starter, Usually do OK like today from the East.

Hoping everyone gets something tonight

Well incredibly the snow has melted off the road again, despite it being -1 and night time! Very strange.

Surfaces should be colder than the air, that's why it's frosty at 2c sometimes

Is it mean or do those showers look more threatening.

Yes they seem quite heavy but..the whole day here was like 15min of heavy showers, then 45min of broken clouds with flurries from Finse Norway and rinse and repeat. It's good though for places that didn't have a single snowfall this winter. The North Sea it's not Lake Michigan. We need lower 850hpa there for more organised bands of showers and proper streamers.

Glad someone around here has seen something. My hope is that the 'gap' closes or the bands move or merge. As it stands I cant believe its happened again for a 3rd consecutive easterly. What ever happened to a decent northerly? They seem to be extinct!

I feel your pain

You could not make it up!

As I said in an earlier post worrying times if these easterly’s keep on failing to delivery for us

I have forgotten what lying snow looks like

It has evaporated or blown away due to the dry air... This happened here in 2018

Somewhere just south of Leeds is probably going to get a reasonable fall from this next que.

The blob in the North sea is interesting albeit moving slowly.
