lets hope hull does better for snow tonight, this easterly is so far a bit underwhelming, like others have in last few years.light covering today, now melting away rapidly.

I think problem is that's it's been more of a North Easterly than Easterly, longer sea track making a difference to temperature.

This should change to an Easterly now.

The dusting may have gone by the time I finish work. Shower intensity easing back on the radar and not travelling so far inland. One thing for sure the kids won't be talking about this kitten from the east in the future.

I'm not sure they are actual radar images.... don't think the North Sea is covered?

Any ideas what kind of time that's likely to land?

Based on current wind direction I would say it’s likely to take this track, but not sure if wind is due to change. @Craigers and @Scott Ingham are better at picking up on radar patterns.

Not too sure. But for are area have you noticed that we seem to be tracking the snow further down the coast, was orginally Flamborough and now its somewhere around Hornsea?

No, that's just normal showers. I was speaking of the blob above East Anglia.

Yes, definate change in direction meaning areas of interest for here are moving down the coast.

I don't think  the wind direction is due to veer to a true easterly until Thursday, (and then only briefly before swinging to a southerly),  and by then it's pretty slack so largely irrelevant

Might be better for us, anything going around York area for us kept dying out. Its like a shield. But that feature in the baltics looks interesting for sure.

If that’s the direction it’s moving then it’s heading towards Teesside/North Yorkshire. Sunderland/Newcastle is towards the top end of the region.

Please let that be true...looks like it's heading straight over me.  Maybe that's why the BBC forecast has upgraded for us later this evening and overnight?

This video believed to be from somewhere in Norfolk today, reminds me of the snow back in the 80,s when I was a kid.

seem to recall drifts like that in parts of north yorkshire on a May bank holiday around 2013 when we had to hire a little motor  for a short break when ours packed in. It was so weird seeing snow and so much of it that late on

Or is that the Amber warning for Low Lands of Scotland, or is that too far north?

Think we can all agree that Amber warning was overkill to say the least!

To be fair to UKMO, almost all of the precip models including the hi-res ones like AROME & UKV, were showing some large totals of snow for our region. They can only forecast based on the data they have, and today it appears the data got it wrong...
