LOL @ This tweet

"How about correctly forecasting what will happen to the weather as opposed to telling people what’s already happened. “Fore-Cast”. Before......... you just can’t do it. Please retire your whole team."

either it's started snowing again here in S11, or someone is pulling a sheet of polystyrene apart... lots of teeny tiny white bits floating past the window...

Don't write anything off yet until 12am tonight!! Trust me ✌

Agreed, but that is about cut-off time for heavy showers, especially in terms of progress inland. After that isobars widen as HP exerts more influence, wind slackens, and convection reduces, making it largely dry for the bulk of our region for tomorrow, Wednesday, Thursday (the first Atlantic front dies over Ireland) and Friday. After that it's less certain, but right now we're looking dry and cold for the next seven days from midnight tonight.

It's true, I find the GFS ppt forecasts to be remarkably accurate out to about 60 hrs

They always get slated especially on the model forums but they normally Bob on for my location at least.

Guys and gals keep the faith.  Showers set to intensify around 3 as we head towards dark.  Think you will see them merge together a bit more too to give longer falls.  The better stuff was always forecast for this afternoon and overnight into tomorrow morning.  Got plenty of time as the showers not forecast to dies out till tomorrow evening at the earliest

Well at least I'll have a walk later on with a dusting to enjoy later on.

That’s the worry I don’t see any attraction of ££££ heating bills if there’s no snow. Heatings been on full blast for days. I dread to think what the bill will be

Interesting that BBC has upgraded from nothing to heavy snow showers here tonight and tomorrow.
I know it’s the website but I’m desperate and hoping they correct.

Showers here have definitely pepped up over the past hour - they're still putting down very light snow, but they're more frequent and longer in duration.

And heavy snow symbols this evening and overnight! Think the interest is more so later than now and this is the starter. Maybe a delay or just an upgrade

There's a fairly large band of 3 big showers heading through north Yorkshire. Looks like it will miss Leeds and go just north.

They have taken them from us and given them to you, because Barnsleys looks poor on automated forecasts

Ive noticed in the light patches and the wind, the snow are bigger clumps than this morning. Must be a good sign
