Graupel showers on and off all night here with only a slight dusting. Seems to have turned to proper flakes in the last 20 mins but very light. Showers in the North Sea getting beefier by the looks of things

Worrying times for snow lovers in low lying East Yorks

This winter is a cold one by modern standards and yet we still have not had a covering

Have to go back to the beast from the east for the last covering of snow here

If we can’t get snowfall in this set up , one does have to wonder when we will?

Radar looks same as yesterday here -say’s it’s snowing -it isn’t !

Good Luck everyone for today

well i guess we have learn,t that the bbc and Met online forecasts are a waste of time, snow depth charts are a waste of time, they have not even been close to real time results, the only things that has been forecast correctly is the strength of the wind and windchill, its bloody freezing out there, lol, raintoday radar has us in a nice clear dry zone for a while too.  lol

Just a dusting here this morning.  2mm maybe 3mm at most

Was expecting more....oh well.

Looks like with this you either going to get hit with some heavy snow showers or miss out

it is the currently the heaviest its been the whole time in Hornsea literally 3 mins and everywhere is totally white ( even on the road )  Iron Bru - biggest flakes so far so you never know!! keep the faith!!!

If this was a streamer and didn't keep stopping every few mins it would amount to a load but so far 5 mins is max before it stops again

@Scott Ingham as someone who is still learning about convection/snowfall. I can see why you made the prediction of 20cm and possibly more for some areas in our region. Just had a really heavy burst lasted around 15 minutes and dropped a cm of snow. The Daughters nursery in Barnsley saying they haven’t had much only 10 minute drive away. Crazy, but goes to show we are all in the game today, just need a little luck.

Ive had 3 decent showers for 4cm! A cm per 10 min shower its been rediculous! Its just luck mate

Morning all!

Snowing nicely here, I did think maybe more when I looked out of the curtains as playing the radar back we've had showers all night. It is drifting powder snow though so maybe it's been blown off the surface as it's falling.

Looks to be 2cm here at the mo on a level surface.

Let's see what we get today, amber warning, so it could keep at it for a while ?️☃️

snowing on and off all night...really light stuff but got a few cm..however have noticed in the last hour much bigger fat flakes. I live right near the beach and the sky is totally grey...and the wind is brutal!
