Sorry to hijack this thread ha but this just pipped my interest. Is Derby itself looking to be in the sweet zone. It’s very close potentially it seems. Most annoying when it gets stuck up around Chesterfield

Ha ha. Its our turn this time. You had all that snow the other week when we got nowt

This will result in more convection further north due to convective laws, and subsequently more snow showers late Monday into early Tuesday for Halifax, Huddersfield, Manchester. This is unlikely to be as intense as the streamer further south, the Humber > Chesterfield > Ashbourne one, however will be enough to produce a 2-5cm covering  and in places 10cm >200m in the East.

Many thanks for the update, I'm 8 miles due south of Chez, and 9 miles north of Ashbourne, so here's hoping, if its only half as good as the 2010 humber streamer it will be a goodun

What are your current conditions? The streamer is over that area right now.

Yes, it could give 2010 a run for it's money. We'll see.

It is looking so. North Derby is looking somewhat better than South Derby.

Good job I live in the North.

I'm hoping the streamer keeps on building further north, so some of us in West Yorkshire also come in the firing line......Although not liking the NE-SW angle of it atm....

Man made surfaces maybe, but the countryside is very much water logged.

Here's hoping to have something in the York region, we've really not had anything decent all winter

We appear to be in a gap between the lines of showers at the moment. Just our luck!

Typical! It does look like the southern band of showers is slowly moving northwards, it's now over flamborough head

The Met Office's own forecast is now showing over 12 hours of heavy snow for the region tomorrow, along with 30mph gusts. (not to be taken literally of course)

No updated warnings as of yet though.

Looks like the automated forecast is correcting northwards. Great news for people to get in the streamer now

Theres been a subtle shift south of the streamers all day.

The euro 4 now showing the overnight/morning streamer a long way south.

It does show showers further north into south yorkshire in the afternoon however.

Id be more worried in north yorkshire right now.

Tueaday and wednesday looking increasingly a bust for the region.

Could just be tomorrow for snow but still time for features to pop up
