GEM 12z, which was the first to pick up the Baltic/Humber streamer last week, is a big upgrade for tomorrow, Tuesday and Wednesday with just about all parts of our region getting in on the game at some point over the next 3 days!  Let’s just hope it’s right!

That's a huge upgrade. Ideally we want a widening of the streamer so everyone benefits!

Not getting over excited over a streamers. If you're lucky you get under one if your unlucky you just seem pass to the north and south and vainly hoping on the radar that one new stream pops up with your name on it.

Can't really take the mickey out of the south east thread as they have something I haven't measurable snow.

So far marks out of ten. 2 for giving false hope of some snow cover this morning then -2 for melting most of it overnight. One mark for flurries and one for the wind chill minus one mark for the continued slow thaw. Total marks 1/10

Status Kitten from east.

GFS extending the cold spell just want ECM onboard as well with the idea now and good times.

Chuffin' ell PIT we're not even 24 hours into this spell and you're already marking it out of 10.

Like judging the quality of a football match after 10 minutes has been played

I agree about the streamer part - I want to see a big beefy one over us on the radar tomorrow morning - then I'll get excited

Nice upgrade! Got to say you can’t rule out further upgrades, I know some on here have suggested that precipitation charts in this sort of set up can often underplay what actually happens. Fingers crossed stay positive, and hopefully theirs a streamer with your name on it. Yorkshire is King.....I hope.

Plenty of time to redeem itself. Although you got to admit to classics yester year it's a tame start. Temperatures starting at 25F and dropping down to 21F. The house facing the easterly wind covered in ice.

Parts of Sheffield have awesome snow cover- here are pics from Crosspool. Approx 8 cm

Woah. Greystones has nothing like that, and it’s just the other hill across (In fact I can see some of crosspool from my sofa!).

I'm not as old as you  Yes plenty of time for this week to live long in the memory, starting with a snowy Monday hopefully. Today looked like a snizzle fest though when it got into range of the hi res models, so I'm not too disheartened.

Ah, I understand now why you have the winter tyres on your AWD.  Goathland lovely village, but not great roads in or out at either end!

Was 10 years old and in my element. It was the most nuts thing ever. I've never seen ice bust things like it did and the snow was epic ❄️❄️❄️❄️?️?️?️?️
