Morning

so we have had on and off grauple here all morning, not amounting to anything.
Why does the radar currently show beefy showers for all when in reality hardly anything is falling!
can the radars be wrong?

Yes, I can see the snow on the tops around Macc.  Only had drizzle here through the night, sheltered by the hills. Interesting to see how things will pan out.

The radar does look more impressive than the reality.

Wasn’t expecting anything until tomorrow but I just like to know these things, it’s fascinating.
Great weather watching this winter and if it falls great and if not well it has certainly passed the lock down boredom that’s for sure

We’ve had few flakes in the air on and off for the last couple of hours but nothing much getting very far inland before fizzling out.  Radar does look good though and showers are clearly intensifying and as @Craigers has shown above they appear to be heading for South Yorkshire!

Euro4 shows showers today with greatest intensity up until lunchtime then weakening as the afternoon progresses.  The real action then starts in the early hours of Monday when the Baltic/Humber streamer sets up

Meanwhile we have our regular squirrel visitor to the garden stocking up!

Yeah being right on the sea it usually melts quick in skeggy. But soon conditions should be cold enough for snow at all levels.

One thing I've noticed when there's showers around lincolnshire, skeggy seems to always get the heavy ones.

Only flurries here so far.

Annoyingly is still 0.6c here so light coverings might melt. Was expecting ice days from now from the forecast, so hopefully the cold air is still filtering in.

Dew point below freezing at least.

Good luck to us all over the next 4 days ❄️

Don't think they were thinking full stop. An amber warning for dandruff south, and nothing for an event that leads to multiple roads across Leeds flooded

Park near me had rivers of water running through it this morning, very wet.

MetO upgraded my neck of the woods to heavy snow @ 12pm and heavy showers between 1pm and 2pm. BBC says not.

Not much to report here. Light snow/graupel falling for much of the morning but the ground is still too warm for it to settle.

Heavier showers trying to make it here but failing to do so.

Temp 0.8c Dew -1.7c

One episode of heavy snow, big flakes, here just after 8.30. Lasted about 30 seconds. Apart from that just on and off light snow and graupel. Enough to just wet the ground... So don’t be jealous of how the radar looks for the east
